Mark Barth’s practice concentrates on the legal aspects of professional investment management, especially in transnational settings. Mr. Barth has extensive experience in all aspects of structuring, documenting and operating offshore investment funds and U.S. private investment funds, including ERISA, tax and securities laws issues. He also has extensive experience in counseling U.S. and foreign clients on U.S. investment adviser regulatory considerations. He has also acted as independent counsel to the independent trustees of a registered investment company. Mr. Barth also has experience in international joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and U.S. securities law aspects of international employee benefit plans.

Mr. Barth received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1973 and his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1977. He is a member of the New York Bar; the International Bar Association, Committee I (Investment Funds); the American Bar Association, Subcommittee on Investment Advisers and Investment Companies; and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Mr. Barth lectures regularly on the legal aspects of investment management, including formation and operation of investment funds.
