Marty is a trial lawyer with a nationwide reputation of delivering favorable results to clients. He is particularly adept at developing litigation and trial strategies, and addressing matters on appeal.
Marty is the lead litigation partner on a full range of disputes in complex Chapter 11 proceedings and other restructuring related issues for debtors, official committees of unsecured creditors, other secured and unsecured creditors, bondholders and ad hoc groups.
Marty is also lead trial counsel for litigation teams in restructuring, energy, mining, real estate and telecommunications matters across the country.
- Served as lead litigator for the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the following Chapter 11 cases: Diamond Sports Group, Alex Jones, HONX, Inc., TPC Group, Strike LLC, Global Eagle Entertainment, Diamond Offshore Drilling, Southern Foods Group d/b/a Dean Foods, iHeartMedia, Adeptus Health, Emerald Oil and Edison Mission Energy.
- Served as lead litigator for the debtors in Sungard, Sanchez Energy, Quicksilver Resources and Lothian Oil Chapter 11 cases.
- Served as lead litigator and trial counsel in the International Shipholding Chapter 11 post-confirmation adversary proceeding.
- Served as lead creditor (secured and unsecured) litigator in Talen Energy, Free Speech Systems, InfoWars, GSO/Extraction, Denbury, Parker Drilling, Cobalt International Energy, EXCO Resources, CHC Helicopter, Quicksilver, Walter Coal, Mission Coal, and ASARCO Chapter 11 cases.
- Served as lead litigator in commercial disputes throughout the country in state and federal courts, and arbitration proceedings.
