Natasha Kohne serves as the partner-in-charge of the Abu Dhabi office and primarily practices international litigation, arbitration and investigations with a particular focus on high-value disputes involving intellectual property, energy, construction, shipping and foreign direct investments. Ms. Kohne also has experience in the Middle East advising government-owned entities on multi-billion dollar investments.
Ms. Kohne has extensive experience over the years representing sovereign entities and multinational corporations before an array of courts and international tribunals in various countries in the Middle East, Europe and North America. She also routinely advises clients on managing dispute-related risks and on corporate governance and compliance matters, including restructuring and structuring departments within large government institutions. Ms. Kohne has spearheaded several reform projects for sovereign governments, including in the areas of judicial procedure, mediation, construction law and secured transactions law. She has experience in both civil law and common law jurisdictions.
Ms. Kohne is the co-author of a book on the Business Laws of the UAE and has served as a guest lecturer at the Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. She has lectured on various subjects such as international dispute resolution, corporate governance and risk mitigation and has authored several articles on the economic environment of the United Arab Emirates. In addition, Ms. Kohne was appointed to serve on the Advisory Council Committee of the Emirates Foundation’s Social Development Program and she is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce of Abu Dhabi.
Ms. Kohne received her B.A. summa cum laude in 1996 from Columbia University and her J.D. in 2000 cum laude from Harvard Law School.
