UAE Training Programme

An exciting opportunity to join our Dubai office as a trainee solicitor from September 2026 and begin your journey towards a rewarding legal career in the region.

Located in one of the world’s leading international business hubs, our Dubai office offers exposure to a diverse range of cross‑border work. From day one, you will work alongside leading partners and lawyers on high‑profile, complex matters, gaining first‑hand experience of international, market‑leading transactions. You will be trusted with real responsibility and supported at every stage by your dedicated supervisor, wider team, and trainee cohort, as you develop the legal, professional and interpersonal skills needed to thrive at Akin.

Our programme allows you to rotate through different practice areas, and between UAE offices, offering you broad exposure to a range of legal disciplines.

This stage allows you to bring your application to life! We want to learn more about you, your motivations, and why you are interested in pursuing your England & Wales qualification in Dubai. The conversation will also include competency‑based questions, giving you the chance to demonstrate the skills and behaviours we look for in our trainees.

Step 4: Assessment Day

Our assessment days are held either in person at our London office or via Zoom, depending on your location. The day includes a commercial case‑study interview, a competency‑based interview, and two written assessments. You will meet with lawyers from both our London and Dubai offices, as well as spend time with our trainees, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about training at Akin.

Step 5: Panel Interview with Our Dubai Partners

The final stage of the process is a panel interview with three of our Dubai partners. This is your opportunity to meet the partners you will be working closely with, discuss your motivations for joining the team, and showcase the strengths you would bring to the role. The interview will take place either in person or via Zoom, depending on your location.

UAE Summer Internship  

This is a fantastic opportunity for UAE Nationals studying law to undertake four weeks of tailored work experience in the Abu Dhabi office of Akin, located in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s new central business district.

Our four-week internship offers an exciting opportunity to experience life at Akin. This carefully designed programme provides an immersive and realistic insight into the work undertaken by trainee solicitors at the firm; while also offering a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operations of an international law firm. You will follow a structured timetable that balances hands-on experience, professional development and networking opportunities.
