A diverse community makes our firm an exciting, inclusive place to work—and we look forward to adding your unique perspective. Akin Gump’s mentoring, training and professional development programmes support diverse practitioners in building and expanding networks. Vibrant diversity and inclusion committees operate firmwide and locally, and contribute to all hiring initiatives. The London committee includes a trainee representative, opening up connections with peers, senior lawyers and firm leadership. Our firmwide resource groups support LGBTQ+, BAME and women lawyers, and also focus on social mobility, abilities and parents/caregivers for a truly inclusive working environment.

We address diversity and potential unconscious bias in our London trainee programme application process. We do not have minimum A-Level requirements and personal details are removed from applications before screening. We invite successful applicants to take a critical thinking assessment, and all top scorers are invited to interview.
