President Biden signed Executive Order (EO) 14091, Further Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government, which includes provisions on equitable data and algorithmic discrimination in AI. The EO mandates that agencies design, develop, acquire and use AI in the federal government in a manner that advances equity, and that agencies consider consulting their civil rights offices on decisions regarding the design, development, acquisition, and use of AI.
