FCC Proposes Rules on AI-Generated Robocalls

On July 16, 2024, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed new consumer protections against AI-generated robocalls. The proposal seeks comment on the definition of AI-generated calls, requires callers to disclose their use of AI-generated calls, provides support for technologies that alert and protect consumers from AI robocalls and protects positive uses of AI to help people with disabilities utilize the telephone networks.
