Summary
On December 5, 2023, The Messenger held a summit titled, “AI: Balancing Innovation and Regulation.” The forum featured remarks from Reps. Jay Obernolte (R-CA) and Don Beyer (DVA), the Vice Chairs of the Congressional AI Caucus. Rep. Obernolte spoke about challenging the AI Learning Curve, and Rep. Beyer discussed the next steps to AI legislation. The summit also featured remarks from Sen. Todd Young (R-IN), who reflected on AI’s impact on US competitiveness, along with Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Director Kathleen Fisher, United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler, and NIST Director Laurie Locascio, alongside major industry partners.
