House Launches Bipartisan AI Task Force

On February 20, 2024, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) announced the formation of a bipartisan House AI Task Force that includes members of key committees of jurisdiction and will be jointly led by Chair Jay Obernolte (R-CA) and Co-Chair Ted Lieu (D-CA). The Task Force, which includes 12 Republican Members and 12 Democratic members, will seek to produce a comprehensive report that will include “guiding principles, forward-looking recommendations and bipartisan policy proposals developed in consultation with committees of jurisdiction.”
