Summary
On August 4, 2023, the New York Senate introduced Senate Bill 7623, which would restrict the use by an employer of electronic monitoring or an automated employment decision tool to screen a candidate for an employment decision, unless such tool has been the subject of a bias audit within the last year. The legislation would also require notice to employment candidates of the use of such tools.
