Tech Leaders Draft Framework for Ethical and Beneficial Use of AI in Health Care
Summary
The Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), which includes Microsoft and Google, issued a draft framework for the ethical and beneficial use of AI to urge consensus on how best to regulate AI. The framework includes five key principles that AI technologies should consider:
- Usefulness, usability and efficiency
- Fairness, equity and bias management
- Safety and reliability
- Transparency, intelligibility and accountability
- Security and privacy
The framework also includes best practices relating to lifecycle management, and is largely consistent with other existing AI frameworks, such as the White House Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights.
