Summary

On February 17, 2023, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange issued the Notice on Matters Concerning the Listing of Unprofitable Enterprises on the ChiNext to allow unprofitable start-ups in certain high-tech industries to go to listing on A-Share with a lower listing threshold. ChiNext is a NASDAQ-style subsidiary of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. This new listing rule will cover enterprises in AI, advanced manufacturing, internet, big data, cloud computing and biomedicine industries. The new listing threshold is an “estimated market value . . . not less than 5 billion RMB, and . . . operating income in the latest year [of] not less than 300 million yuan.” The new rule is intended to make listing on ChiNext more attractive to high-tech enterprises.
