UK and India Launch Collaborative Technology Security Initiative

On July 24, 2024, the UK’s new Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, announced the UK-India Technology Security Initiative (TSI) during his first official visit to India where he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The TSI builds on a series of partnerships between the British and Indian government and is part of a package of measures to bolster the UK-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The TSI will set out the approach for how the UK and India plan to work together on key technologies including AI, advanced materials and semiconductors.
