Summary

On September 29, 2023, the US Space Force reportedly issued an internal memorandum to Space Force members banning the use of generative AI and large language models (LLM). Lisa Costa, the US Space Force’s Chief Technology and Innovation Officer noted that while AI will revolutionize the workforce, there are also concerns regarding “cybersecurity, data handling and procurement requirements” and the adoption of AI and LLMs needs to be done responsibly.
