Akin Again Named Among LA Business Journal’s ‘Most Admired Law Firms’

For the fifth consecutive year, Akin has been recognized among Los Angeles Business Journal’s (LABJ) “Most Admired Law Firms to Work For.”
The list spotlights “the most admired and best law firms to work for in the LA area…[those] particularly outstanding law firms who are consciously working towards creating diverse, positive, and supportive environments to help drive the success of their attorneys.”
In the firm’s published profile, LABJ states that Akin is an admired place to work because of its understanding of the importance of a healthy work-life balance, including through such programs as Akin’s Mental Health Advisor program and flexible work arrangement policies for both its lawyers and U.S. business services employees.
The profile describes the Mental Health Advisor program as a “free, voluntary and confidential consultation program with licensed professional counselors to improve work/life integration, increase resiliency and reduce stress.”
The profile also elaborates on Akin’s reduced work schedule policy, noting that it “enables lawyers to fulfill parenting and family care responsibilities or to pursue activities designed to enhance professional development or stature in the legal community” all while remaining eligible for counsel and partnership promotion, and specifically noting that the firm has a “significant track record of promoting women who have availed themselves of the policy.”
The profile closes by noting that the firm offers a hybrid work program, “which plays an important role in providing excellent client service at the highest levels while also providing additional flexibility to its lawyers.”
