Akin Gump Among America’s Best Corporate Law Firms

(Washington, DC) On May 9, 2012, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP was named among the country’s top 25 national corporate law firms in the 12th annual America’s Best Corporate Law Firms study announced by Corporate Board Member magazine and global business advisory firm FTI Consulting, Inc.

Akin Gump ranked among not only among the top 25 firms as surveyed by corporate directors, but also among the top 25 in a separate survey of general counsel. This is the 11th year out of the survey’s 12-year history that the firm has been named among the country’s best corporate law firms.

Corporate Board Member and FTI Consulting Inc. surveyed over 11,000 directors and nearly 2,000 general counsel of publicly traded companies. Using three national law firm rankings—National Law Journal’s Top 50, The American Lawyer’s Top 50 and the Vault—a list of more than 60 national corporate law firms was compiled. Respondents were asked to select from that list 10 national firms they would turn to for corporate legal matters of national scope.
