Akin Honored with 2024 PracticePro Diversity Leader Award

Akin has been awarded PracticePro’s 2024 Diversity Leader Award, which recognizes “law firms and corporate legal departments that are actively working toward a more inclusive and diverse legal profession.”

PracticePro, a career development and pipeline program for law students, has selected Akin for this award for the firm’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and its support of the organization, including the firm’s partners attending and speaking at their conferences across the U.S.

The organization is particularly impressed with the firm’s 1L Scholarship Program – Pro Bono Scholars Program (learn more here) and Strauss Diversity and Inclusion Scholars Program (learn more here). Last summer, 25 top law students joined the firm as part of these programs (learn more about the 2023 class here).

Akin hosted the 2024 East Coast Career Conference & Reception on April 5 at its Washington, D.C. office. This conference brought together around 50 law students for a day of programming and networking, and the 2024 PracticePro Diversity Leader Award was presented to Akin at the conference’s networking reception.
