Daily Journal Names Laura Smolowe in 2026 Leading Commercial Litigators

Akin complex commercial and labor & employment litigation partner Laura Smolowe has been named to Daily Journal’s ‘Leading Commercial Litigators’ list 2026. The annual recognition honors leading California litigators handling the state’s most significant commercial disputes. 

The publication highlights Laura’s wide‑ranging practice, spanning matters with deeply personal stakes as well as cases drawing public attention. In one of her most consequential representations, Daily Journal detailed her work uncovering “a fraud of significant scale” involving the undisclosed sale of valuable real estate, which resulted in an award of more than $30 million for the client following contentious arbitration and parallel proceedings across multiple courts. 

"I love helping clients solve problems of all kinds, from the very personal to the headline news, and because I deeply enjoy the intellectual and creative process of analyzing a case, putting it together and presenting it in court," Laura told Daily Journal.
