Akin investment management practice attorney Nina Melanie Orendain has been selected for the inaugural Chris Reed-Brown Pro Bono Award as part of the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program’s (DVAP) annual pro bono awards program for 2023.

Each year, DVAP—a pro bono partnership between the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas—presents the DVAP Pro Bono Awards “to those that go above and beyond their call of duty.” DVAP notes that the award recipients’ “efforts are what make our organization a success” and that they are being recognized “for their outstanding efforts in the justice system.”

This is the most recent of Nina’s DVAP recognitions, as she received the organization’s Outstanding Bilingual Attorney of the Year award in 2018 (learn more here).

Akin is proud to support the work of the DVAP. Last month, in the Dallas Bar Association’s Headnotes newsletter, Akin’s charitable and pro bono work in the Dallas area was featured. You may view more here.
