Co-head of the firm’s congressional investigations practice Raphael Prober has been honored this year with the American Bar Association (ABA)—one of the largest voluntary associations of lawyers in the world—Pro Bono Publico Award, its most prestigious annual award recognizing two individuals and one entity nationwide for demonstrating outstanding commitment to volunteer legal services for low-income and disadvantaged persons.
The recognition highlights Raphael’s career-long devotion to the public interest, including his landmark work on behalf of Holocaust victims pursuing justice against the French railroad SNCF.
“This effort, spanning decades, culminated in an historic $60 million settlement from France to the survivors and their families.”
The ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service is the presenter of the ABA Pro Bono Publico Award. The ABA’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service works to ensure access to justice through the expansion and enhancement of the delivery of legal and other law-related services to the underserved through volunteer efforts of legal professionals nationwide.
