Trump Executive Order Tracker

Directs the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to prioritize enforcement against false or misleading "Made in America" claims and consider regulations requiring online marketplaces to verify country-of-origin representations. Instructs federal agencies to review American-origin claims in government procurement and coordinate guidance on voluntary country-of-origin labeling to protect consumers and support domestic manufacturers.

Invokes the Defense Production Act to prioritize and allocate domestic production of elemental phosphorus and glyphosate-based herbicides, citing their importance to military readiness, semiconductor manufacturing, lithium-ion battery supply chains, and U.S. agricultural productivity. Requires the Secretary of Agriculture to ensure sufficient domestic supply and protect the viability of U.S. producers.

Directs the Department of War (DOW), in coordination with the Department of Energy (DOE), to prioritize long-term power purchase agreements with coal-fired power plants to supply military and other mission-critical federal facilities, emphasizing grid reliability, on-site fuel security, and continuity of defense and intelligence operations. Establishes that coal generation is essential to national and economic security during the declared energy emergency.

Authorizes the Department of War (DOW) to identify underperforming defense contractors and restrict stock buybacks, dividends, executive compensation practices, and certain advocacy benefits until contractors demonstrate sufficient performance, investment, and production capacity, using existing statutory and contractual enforcement tools when necessary.

Establishes Food Supply Chain Security Task Forces at the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to investigate anti-competitive behavior across U.S. food-related industries, including meat processing, seed, fertilizer, and equipment. Targets price fixing, market manipulation, and foreign control of food supply chains that may raise consumer costs or pose national and economic security risks, and authorizes enforcement actions, including criminal prosecutions where warranted.      

Launches the “Genesis Mission,” directing the Department of Energy (DOE) to create a unified national platform combining supercomputers, cloud compute, scientific datasets, domain-specific foundation models and autonomous experimentation tools to accelerate AI-driven scientific discovery. DOE must identify computing resources within 90 days, initial datasets and models within 120 days, robotic laboratory capacity within 240 days, and demonstrate an initial operating capability within 270 days.

Grants a two-year exemption from compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 2024 Primary Copper Smelting Rule for the Freeport-McMoRan Miami smelter in Arizona. Extends all Clean Air Act Section 112 compliance deadlines under the rule, allowing the facility to continue operating under prior emissions standards due to the unavailability of commercially viable control technology.

The Technology Prosperity Deal directs the United States and United Kingdom to cooperate in strategic science and technology areas including artificial intelligence, civil nuclear, fusion, and quantum technologies. It directs agencies in both countries to launch joint flagship research programs, expand compute access, promote AI exports, develop applications in biotechnology, precision medicine, and space, and align AI policy frameworks and standards. It commits to accelerating deployment of advanced nuclear reactors and fuels, achieving independence from Russian nuclear fuel by 2028, streamlining licensing processes, and advancing fusion energy. It launches initiatives in quantum computing, sensing, and networking such as benchmarking taskforces, code challenges, industry exchange programs, and shared centers of excellence. It also catalyzes an AI for space partnership between the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the UK Space Agency, including developing AI models for space applications and supporting science and exploration missions, such as lunar and Martian foundational models. It further strengthens cooperation on research security, telecommunications including 6G, timing resilience, cyber, and secure investment in critical technologies. A ministerial-level working group will be convened within six months to guide priorities, oversee implementation, and conduct annual reviews. The agreement is non-binding, does not alter existing agreements, and imposes no funding obligations.

The Executive Order aims to bolster the resilience of the United States’s pharmaceutical supply chain by stockpiling Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (“APIs”) for critical medicines in the Strategic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Reserve (“SAPIR”) and encouraging the domestic production and procurement of such APIs.
