The American Lawyer and The Lawyer both reported on Akin’s record financial performance in 2025, noting that the firm surpassed $1.7 billion in revenue and posted double‑digit growth across all major financial metrics. The coverage underscored Akin’s continued investment in its core practice areas, along with strategic expansion in areas where client demand is rapidly evolving, including capital solutions, AI, regulatory, cybersecurity, data centers and international arbitration.
Akin co‑chair Abid Qureshi told The American Lawyer that the firm is “in expansion mode,” pointing to the addition of 28 laterals in 2025 and a record promotion class of 22 new partners at the start of the year.
The Lawyer emphasized the firm’s strong global momentum, particularly in London, where revenue rose to $222 million, reinforcing the office’s position as one of Akin’s top performers. The article also noted the firm’s strategic growth across its global platform, including lateral partner additions in London, new offices in Chicago and Riyadh, and cross‑border work across restructuring, private capital and M&A.
“Our strategy has been consistent: we double down on the practices where we lead and expand where client needs are evolving, and our results in London reflect that,” said Akin co‑chair Dan Walsh told The Lawyer.
