(New York and Houston) – The National Law Journal, in its inaugural “Legal Business Trailblazers & Pioneers” roster of “people who have truly ‘moved the needle’ in facilitating the changing ways that law firms conduct business,” has recognized Akin Gump chief operating officer Sally King and director of strategic pricing and analytics Toby Brown in its “Strategists & Drivers” category.
Toby Brown is spotlighted as “one of the first law firm pricing experts” and is noted for helping to form and grow a group of law industry pricing professionals from a small handful to the “more than 200 attended the Client Value SIG’s first ‘P3 Pricing, Practice Innovation and Project Management’ conference” in October 2013.
Sally King, who was recruited out of business school to be GE’s first non-lawyer manager, is noted for her “instrumental” role in bringing about one of the world’s largest law firm mergers. Her recognition focuses on her “weaving together diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (including finance, IT, human resources, business development and more) and helping them function at their highest and best level.”
