Akin Gump Noted Among Energy Boom Dealmakers by Houston Chronicle

In its article “Too few lawyers for many energy deals,” Houston Chronicle focused on the Texas oil and gas boom’s impact on the legal market over the last year as well as on projected increases in 2014 expenditures by more than a dozen major energy companies working the oil patch.

Based on data from Mergermarket, a division of the Financial Times Group, the article notes a variety of “major corporate law firms dominat[ing] the energy sector.”  Among them is Akin Gump, which closed 39 deals in the sector with a value of $24.4 billion.
