Allen Shyu and Dennis Yeung Author IPO Handbook Chapter on Secondary Listings

Akin corporate partner Allen Shyu and senior counsel Dennis Yeung have authored the chapter “International Offerings - Secondary Listing in Hong Kong and Other Jurisdictions,” as part of Asian Legal Business’s IPO Handbook for Hong Kong, 2020.
The chapter begins with an introduction on dual listings for public companies, including under Hong Kong’s new concessionary route. It then goes into detail on the requirements for a Hong Kong secondary listing as well as for one in Singapore, Shanghai and the United States.
Shyu and Yeung write that The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong has shown great determination in attracting “large emerging and innovative companies” that are primarily listed in the U.S. or the U.K. For those companies listed in Hong Kong and considering a dual listing, they say, Singapore and the United States are both “very popular venues.”
