Akin investment management co-leader Barbara Niederkofler is quoted by Bloomberg in an article titled, “Private Credit Begins Sacrificing Secrecy to Draw in Retail Cash,” which explores how the private credit market is evolving to attract individual investors. The piece highlights a major shift in the market as fund managers move from quarterly valuations to more frequent net asset value calculations.

Barbara warns that investors should not confuse more frequent marks with the ability to trade, telling Bloomberg that buying in and withdrawing funds from these vehicles can be complicated.

“These products are not like mutual funds where you can go to an online broker and decide that you want to trade,” she says.
