Akin Gump litigation partner Aaron Murphy was quoted by Daily Journal for its article “Defense attorneys say government's videotaped interrogation policy falls short,” regarding a U.S. Department of Justice announcement in May 2014 requesting that federal law enforcement agents videotape interrogations.

Murphy noted, “There are strategies that are routinely employed in law enforcement that I think if a lot of jurors actually saw a videotape of what some of this stuff looked like, they might have some real questions about whether a confession was voluntary—if somebody meant what they said or if they were just finally relenting after incessant questioning.”
