The Investment Lawyer has published, “A Time for Cayman Common Sense?:The Future of the Cayman Islands as an Offshore Funds Jurisdiction” authored by investment management partner Jim Deeken. The article discusses the state of Cayman Islands as a jurisdiction for offshore fund formation and recommended initiatives to drive international commerce.

Deeken argues that “It may be time for the Cayman Islands to no longer take its position as a well-liked offshore jurisdiction for granted, especially considering rising competition from EU jurisdictions, and instead be proactive in seizing the initiative.”

The article discusses the steps the Cayman Islands can take to “make its jurisdiction more appealing to international commerce.”
