For its article “NY Rep. George Santos accused of ‘serious’ campaign finance violations by watchdog group,” New York Daily News quoted Akin Gump senior political law counsel and consultant Kenneth Gross. The article discusses the Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint filed against Rep. George Santos (R-NY) by the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center, accusing Santos of serious violations of campaign finance law.

Gross, a former FEC Associate General Counsel who headed the General Counsel’s Enforcement Division, said that the Commission moves slowly in its investigations, but noted that the filing seemed to show sufficient cause for a probe. He added, “It’s up to the government now to look into it. The points that they make do raise questions.”
