Akin Gump Supreme Court and appellate practice co-head Pratik Shah is quoted by multiple news organizations regarding the cases being debated in the 2014–15 U.S. Supreme Court Term.

With regard to the potential resurrection of debates around issues such as the Affordable Care Act in the upcoming Term, Shah told The New York Times in its article “Supreme Court’s Robust New Session Could Define Legacy of Chief Justice” that “this term could become the ‘déjà vu all over again’ term of the century.”

In The National Law Journal’s article, “A Low-Key Term for Justices,” Shah said that, in light of the Court’s Hobby Lobby ruling, the closely watched Holt v. Hobbs case will be “an uphill climb” for Arkansas, as the state will try to prevent a Muslim prison inmate from wearing a half-inch beard for religious reasons.

Shah was also featured on C-Span on October 6, 2014, discussing same-sex marriage, upcoming cases on religious freedom and congressional redistricting among other topics. To watch his full interview, click here.
