The Hedge Fund Journal has published “What’s New in Washington: 10 things you need to know,” an article written by Akin Gump partners Donald Pongrace, head of the firm’s public law and policy practice, and Hal Shapiro, chair of the firm’s regulatory practice.

The article looks back at the opening months of the Trump administration, discussing what has transpired during that time, particularly during the past two weeks. The authors observe that the administration is “is celebrating big wins on the regulatory reform front while nursing some wounds from a major defeat on efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.” Looking ahead, some issues on the horizon include tax reform, funding for the government and the confirmation battle over Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
