Akin Gump international trade partner Kevin Wolf was quoted by The Wall Street Journal for its article “American Tech Companies Find Ways Around Huawei Ban,” on steps being taken by companies to resume shipping goods to Huawei Technologies without violating the Trump administration ban on exports to it.

Wolf, a former Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration, said, regarding companies’ need to decide whether they can classify products as “foreign-made,” thereby perhaps sidestepping the Huawei restrictions, that regulations don’t specify exactly which criteria need to be met in order to qualify as manufactured overseas.
