(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce it has been named a national finalist for the 2020 Thomas L. Sager Award.

Presented by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA), the award recognizes law firms with greater than 500 lawyers “that champion a more diverse and inclusive workforce and have demonstrated a sustained commitment to improving the hiring, retention and promotion of diverse attorneys.” It is named after former DuPont senior vice president and general counsel Thomas L. Sager, a widely-respected leader in diversity.

Akin Gump last won the national Sager Award in 2017, was a finalist in 2016, and has been named a winner of four regional Sager Awards as well. This year’s winner will be announced at the MCCA’s virtual Diversity Gala on October 28.
