(Dubai, United Arab Emirates) – Akin Gump has been shortlisted for the IFLR Middle East Awards 2018 in the Domestic Deal of the Year category. The firm was recognized for its work on a deal between Star Satellite Telecommunications and Thuraya Telecommunications, in which it worked alongside local counsel Al Tamimi by providing space law counsel. 

The IFLR Middle East Awards will be presented on October 17 in Dubai. Judged by a team of IFLR journalists, they celebrate “the most innovative legal deals of 2017/18 and the firms that completed them.”
