Akin Gump Wins Plan Sponsor Council of America Signature Award for Financial Wellness Initiative

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump has been awarded first place in the Financial Wellness category of the Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA)’s Signature Awards. The awards recognize excellence in retirement plan communications to plan sponsors and participants.
The firm was recognized for its “Akin Saves” financial wellness campaign that encouraged employees to participate in educational opportunities and take steps to improve their future financial outlook. This included making changes to one’s 401(k) plan and assessing one’s retirement readiness.
In making the selection, PSCA cited Akin Gump’s “wide range of webinar topics to address concerns of a wide range of employees, including student loan refinancing” as well as its efforts to reinforce positive behavior. As a result, half of Akin Gump employees logged into their 401(k) accounts and nearly one third engaged with advisory services.
