Lauren Connell to Receive Brooklyn VLP’s Pro Bono Leadership Award

(New York) – Akin Gump pro bono counsel Lauren Connell will be presented this week with the Brooklyn Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP)’s Pro Bono Leadership Award.

Ms. Connell will be recognized for the integral role she played last year in helping VLP launch its COVID Frontline Workers Initiative, which offered the free preparation of life planning documents, such as wills, health care proxies, powers of attorney and parental designation forms, to frontline health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Connell will receive the award virtually during VLP’s Volunteer Recognition Event on March 4.
