Biography
  • Represents public and private companies in litigation and antitrust matters

Adam Bereston represents clients in litigation, antitrust and regulation matters. His work has included defending against lawsuits brought by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and advising on compliance with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations.

While in law school, Adam served as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. He was also associate editor of The Catholic University Law Review.

Representative Work
  • Served as part of a team successfully seeking a declaratory judgment that a radio station client’s promissory notes remained in full force and effect after defendants allegedly fraudulently induced the client into converting its promissory notes into illiquid stock. Obtaining the judgment allowed the client to retain its multimillion-dollar investment.
  • Helped assess a client’s litigation options in response to an apparent attempt by a U.S. corporation to extort a settlement of a commercial dispute by using unlawful means to disrupt the client’s pending transaction in a foreign country.
  • Represented a transit authority client in an action to determine whether it violated the First Amendment by refusing to accept an issue-oriented advertisement.
  • Represented a client facing an injunction blocking its acquisition of a competitor on the grounds that the acquisition would violate U.S. antitrust laws.
