Funmi advises clients on various aspects of immigration and nationality law, including employment visas, permanent residency, naturalization and immigration-related internal investigations. She also assists clients on international trade laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Funmi worked as an immigration paralegal for law firms in both the United States and Canada. She also previously clerked for a leading corporate immigration law firm. Her experience includes providing research and analysis to support immigration proceedings in addition to drafting and managing applications for various immigrant visas (PERM, I-140, CP. AOS, Naturalization, etc.) and non-immigrant visas (H-1B, L, E-1/2, TN, O-1 and J).
Funmi earned her J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law, where she was a member of the Black Law Students Association, as well as the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Licensed to practice in Missouri only and under the supervision of the partners of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Application for admission to the Texas Bar in process.
