Biography

Hermione Allen is a member of the financial restructuring group. Her experience involves advising a wide range of stakeholders on complex consensual and nonconsensual cross-border restructurings, workouts and formal insolvencies.

Hermione is regularly involved in diversity and inclusion initiatives and has also been involved in a number of Pro Bono programs.

Representative Work
  • GenesisCare: Counsel to an ad hoc group of unaffiliated lenders on a potential restructuring or recapitalisation of GenesisCare, a global healthcare provider specialising on cancer treatment.
  • Hurtigruten: Counsel to the ad hoc group of lenders on the refinancing of Hurtigruten AS, a Norwegian cruise line and coastal ferry business.
  • Cineworld: Counsel to an ad hoc group of secured lenders in the chapter 11 cases of Cineworld and its affiliates, the world’s second-largest movie chain, involving $4 billion in liabilities.
  • Noble Group: Counsel to an ad hoc committee of unsecured creditors on the $3.5-billion financial restructuring of Noble Group, a worldwide commodities supply chain and trading company, most recently in a financial restructuring of Noble’s commodities trading business through security enforcement and the amendment and extension of Noble AssetCo’s notes.
  • Clarks: Counsel to the private placement noteholders of Clarks, a shoe manufacturer and retailer, who were a key stakeholder in the negotiation of the restructuring of the Clarks group.
  • Borr Drilling: Counsel to the ad-hoc group of holders of USD 350m 3.875% senior unsecured convertible bonds due 2023 issued by Borr Drilling Limited. 
  • A South African health care company: Counsel to an investment firm in a complex debt for equity swap and associated transactions in relation to a publicly listed South African healthcare business.
  • Curaeos Group: Counsel to Curaeos Group, a fast-growing dental platform with activities across Europe, and its sponsor on the debt and capital restructuring of the Group.*
  • Nyrstar: Counsel to a coordination committee of senior lenders in relation to restructuring of Nyrstar group implemented via a mix of consensual arrangements and English schemes of arrangement.*
