Biography
  • Practice concentrates on complex corporate restructurings and bankruptcy litigation.

Kevin Zuzolo focuses on chapter 11 and out-of-court complex financial restructurings and represents various parties in interest, including debtors, secured lenders, bondholders, creditors’ committees, and liquidating trustees.

Kevin counsels clients in a variety of industries, including:

  • Telecommunications
  • Technology
  • Retail
  • Energy.

Earlier in his career, Kevin was an associate in the bankruptcy and restructuring group of a New York law firm.

  • CBL & Associates Properties: Counsel to an ad hoc group of unsecured noteholders in the chapter 11 cases of CBL and its affiliates, owner of a property portfolio across 26 states, involving $2.6 billion in liabilities. Successful Restructurings of the Year (Turnarounds & Workouts)
  • Strike: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Strike and its affiliates, one of North America's largest pipeline and energy infrastructure providers, involving $300 million in liabilities.
  • Sungard: Counsel to Sungard Availability Services and its affiliates, a global operator of colocation data and disaster recovery centers, in their chapter 11 cases involving more than $500 million in liabilities and the sale of substantially all of the company’s assets.
  • Hertz: Counsel to an ad hoc group of second lien noteholders in the chapter 11 cases of Hertz and its affiliates, an international car rental company, involving $19 billion in liabilities. Successful Restructurings of the Year (Turnarounds & Workouts)
  • CHC Group: Counsel to an informal secured noteholder group that served as plan sponsor in the chapter 11 cases of CHC Group and its affiliates, a provider of helicopter transportation services to the offshore oil and gas industry, involving $2.19 billion in liabilities.   • Payless: Counsel to the company, an international shoe retailer, in its chapter 11 restructuring of $435 million in liabilities. Retail Services Restructuring of the Year (Turnaround Atlas Awards)
  • Rex Energy: Counsel to an informal second lien noteholder group in the chapter 11 cases of Rex Energy and its affiliates, a natural gas exploration and production (E&P) company, involving approximately $930 million in liabilities.
  • Rand Logistics: Counsel to the debtor and its affiliates, a leading bulk-freight shipper in the Great Lakes region, in its chapter 11 cases involving $258 million in liabilities. Private Equity Turnaround of the Year (Turnaround Atlas Awards)
  • Stone Energy: Counsel to an ad hoc group of unsecured noteholders in the chapter 11 cases of Stone Energy and its affiliates, an E&P company operating in the Gulf of Mexico, involving $1.2 billion in liabilities.
  • Vanguard Natural Resources: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Vanguard Natural Resources and its affiliates, a Houston-based independent E&P company, involving $1.2 billion in liabilities.
