Biography
  • Provides assistance on a broad range of complex corporate restructuring matters.

Taylor is an associate in the firm’s financial restructuring practice. He represents both domestic and international clients in a variety of complex restructuring matters and advises creditors and other stakeholders in chapter 11 proceedings.

Taylor was an Akin Pro Bono Scholar and a summer associate. Prior to joining the firm, Taylor was a legal intern for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and a research assistant at The University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.

Taylor earned his B.A. in public policy studies with honors from The University of Chicago. He earned his J.D. from the New York University School of Law, where he was an editor of the New York University Journal of Legislation & Public Policy, co-president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and recipient of the Ann Petluck Poses Memorial Prize in recognition of outstanding work in a clinical course.

Representative Work
  • Diamond Sports: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Diamond Sports Group and its affiliates, an operator of regional sports broadcast networks for more than 40 teams across Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association, involving more than $8 billion in liabilities.
  • HONX: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 case of HONX, a subsidiary of Hess Oil, that owned and operated a refinery in the U.S. Virgin Islands, involving hundreds of millions of dollars of potential asbestos liabilities.
  • Avaya: Counsel to an ad hoc group of first lien lenders in negotiations related to the prepackaged chapter 11 cases of Avaya and its affiliates, a multinational cloud communications and collaboration services company, involving $4 billion in liabilities.
