The Alternative Investment Management Association’s AIMA Journal has published “Changing the guard — what to expect from the UK’s FCA” by London-based Akin Gump investment management counsel Anna Maleva-Otto.

The article discusses the Financial Conduct Authority—the product of the division of the earlier Financial Services Authority into the FCA and the Prudential Regulation Authority—and its supervisory and enforcement approaches as the new regulator for the investment management sector.  It also focuses on the effects of this new body’s broader mandate and closer attention to business models, strategy and governance on investment managers and certain portfolio firms, among other topics.
