Akin Gump Adds Leading Project Finance and Corporate Lawyers in Los Angeles

(Los Angeles, California) – Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP has enhanced its renewable energy capabilities with the addition of two partners with highly regarded electric power, finance and corporate practices.    

Dino E. Barajas and Elliot Hinds join the firm in Los Angeles.  They have significant transactional experience in electric power, with a particular concentration in the wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and hydroelectric industries.  Their practices encompass project finance, M&A, private equity transactions, joint ventures and debt finance.

Mr. Barajas’ practice is centered on domestic and international project finance, with a focus on renewable energy projects and Latin American infrastructure development.  His clients include commercial lenders, institutional investors, investment funds, project sponsors, and public and private companies in domestic and international project financings in the energy, power, infrastructure and commercial sectors. 

In addition to his practice in the electric power and renewables industries, Mr. Hinds represents businesses in debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic corporate and commercial transactions.  His clients include owners, developers and lenders as well as private equity firms, hedge funds and other investors.

Mr. Barajas received his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1990 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1993.  He joins the firm from Morgan Lewis, where he was a partner and co-chair of the Latin American Practice Group.  

Mr. Hinds received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992 and his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1996.  He joins the firm from Goodwin Procter, where he was a partner.
