(Hong Kong) – Akin Gump has advised on a deal that has been shortlisted for the IFLR Asia Awards 2018. The firm was named a finalist for its work advising on the EMAS Chiyoda Subsea restructuring, which was nominated in the “Restructuring” category.

EMAS is a joint venture between Singapore-based Ezra Holdings Ltd. and Chiyoda Corp. and NYK Lines of Japan. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February 2017. As part of the restructuring, Akin Gump advised the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors.

The IFLR Asia Awards celebrate legally innovative teams and deals in the Asia-Pacific region. Award winners will be announced March 1 in Hong Kong.
