As reported by the blog of the State Bar of Texas in “Houston firms and corporations join Project TRAIN Network,” Akin Gump is among the law firms and companies that will join Project TRAIN (Training, Readiness, and Inclusion Network), working towards employment opportunities for people with special needs.

Project TRAIN, according to the article, works with firms and companies in the hiring and retention of employees with special needs or cognitive disorders. The project members will develop training programs and materials focusing on the Americans with Disabilities Act and relevant employment law, as well as counsel employers on the specific circumstances attendant on hiring special-needs individuals.
