Akin Gump Earns Ninth Consecutive Perfect Score on HRC Corporate Equality Index

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is proud to announce that, for the ninth year in a row, it has received a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index, an annual national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Consequently, Akin Gump has also received a designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
As noted by HRC in its report, “The policies, benefits and practices businesses must implement to earn a perfect score are best-in-class demonstrations of corporate commitments to LGBT workers and more generally to an ever diversifying workforce.”
The 2016 CEI rated 1,027 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.
