Akin Gump Expands IP Litigation and International Trade Capabilities

(Washington, D.C.) – Arthur Wineburg has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP as a partner in Washington, the firm announced today.

Mr. Wineburg’s practice focuses principally on intellectual property litigation in federal courts and before the International Trade Commission. In more than 30 years as a trial counsel, he has tried patent, trademark, trade dress and trade secrets cases in multiple technology fields, including biopharma, chemical, electrical, mechanical and software to juries and judges.

A former director of the Office of Unfair Import Investigations at the International Trade Commission (1982-1988), Mr. Wineburg has extensive experience in handling Section 337 cases before the ITC, and regularly advises clients in connection with these fast-moving patent infringement investigations.

Mr. Wineburg received his B.A. with highest honors from Bard College in 1964, his M.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1965 and his J.D. with honors from the George Washington University in 1971. He is a past president of the International Trade Commission Trial Lawyers Association and currently serves on its executive board. He joins the firm from Pillsbury Winthrop LLP, where he co-chaired the firm’s IP litigation practice.
