(Moscow, Russian Federation) – Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is pleased to announce today that it has moved its Moscow office to accommodate expanding client demand as a result of a number of successful years.

The new offices located in the Geneva House business center, in the heart of Moscow’s business district, will allow for further expansion and consolidation of the established market leading mergers and acquisitions, energy, capital markets, tax, real estate, TMT, disputes resolution and other practices.

Richard Wilkie, partner in charge of the office, commented: “The global downturn notwithstanding, the successful expansion of our Moscow office advising Russian clients on their international activities (VimpelCom, Lukoil and Surgutneftegas) and international clients on their investments into Russia (such as ExxonMobil) has meant that we have outgrown our existing offices. Our new office will bring us closer to our clients, and I have no doubt that it will be more practical for all our staff. We anticipate that it will prove a success among clients and staff alike.”

In the last two years the firm has added Vlad Sourkov from CMS Russia as a partner and head of the firm’s Russian real estate practice, Varun Gupta from Allen & Overy as a partner and head of the firm’s capital markets practice in Russia, Suren Gortsunyan from Hogan Lovells as a corporate partner and tax and disputes resolution partner, Ilya Rybalkin, who also joined the firm from Hogan Lovells. With the arrival of these partners the firm has also increased the number of attorneys and support staff to ensure the highest level of client service.

The new office address is as follows, while telephone and fax numbers and email addresses will remain the same:
