Dario Frommer, partner in Akin Gump’s public law and policy practice, and Daniel Sinaiko, partner in the firm’s global project finance practice, have authored the article “California’s Wild Solar Ride Nears A Crossroads” for the July issue of Solar Industry magazine.

The article addresses the prospects for the solar industry in California given new net metering rules as well as the expiration in 2016 of the 30 percent investment tax credit for solar projects. The renewable portfolio standard requirement, currently at 33 percent, could also rise as high as 51 percent of all retail electricity sales. The response by lawmakers to these issues and others, the authors write, will be key in shaping “the future of solar in the Golden State and across the country.”
