Akin Gump Named Pro Bono Firm of the Year by Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles

(Los Angeles) – Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) has named Akin Gump its Pro Bono Firm of the Year. The firm received the award at the organization’s 18th annual Access to Justice Dinner.

Akin Gump has been a longtime supporter of LAFLA’s immigration projects and, over the years, has taken many U visa and Violence Against Women Act cases, helping numerous individuals obtain the right to remain in the United States. Last year, the firm donated nearly 700 hours of pro bono work to LAFLA’s immigration clients.

Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles has provided civil legal aid to poor and low-income people in Los Angeles County since 1929.
